According to the physical characteristics of the free zone, such matters as production, purchase-sale, warehouse management, assembly-disassembly, maintenance and repair, workplace rental, exhibition, packaging, banking, insurance, financial leasing are considered appropriate by the General Directorate of Free Zones and It can engage in all kinds of industry, trade and service activities that do not cause environmental pollution.

While only open space or ready-made workplaces can be rented in free zones where the ownership of the land belongs to the treasury, it is also possible to sell lands and workplaces in Free Zones (Kayseri Free Zone) where the ownership of the land belongs to the private sector. In this framework, companies that want to operate in the free zone by constructing their own workplaces or by renting a ready-made workplace can rent open space or ready-made workplaces in areas whose land belongs to the Treasury, and lease or purchase open space or ready-made workplaces in areas whose land belongs to the private sector. However, companies that will build their own workplaces must act in accordance with the building and construction principles determined for that free zone. There is no difference in terms of domestic and foreign companies in renting and selling open space and ready-made workplaces.
